How a Blog Helped Manifest Success (and Free Paint!)
I love my blog, I really do! I blog to inspire and motivate myself, to push me to create even when I feel tired after a long day of whining kids and a to-do list that gets longer every minute. My blog gives me the courage to put my art out there before I get a chance to doubt my abilities. Sometimes I feel discouraged and wonder why I'm putting the pressure on to share myself and my work with a world I will probably never meet. Yet, its these magical moments, when I connect with kindred artists and others passionate about creating beauty, that my hard work suddenly makes sense. What a joy to meet others who get me and what I'm trying to achieve, who are also striving to be their very best. It is for this reason that I will never give up following my dream of becoming a successful artist able to support my family by doing what I love.
Recently, my blog opened up a great opportunity for me. I received an email from the resident artist for Chroma Paints, the makers of my favorite Crackle Medium. She told me how inspiring my blog is, and that she noticed I use their paints (see post here and here)...she asked if I would like to test their new line of soft bodied matte acrylics. I couldn't resist free paint, so I agreed to help. I was not expecting to receive a big box filled with large sizes of every color of paint plus two bottles of Crackle Medium!! I'm in heaven! I don't even know where to begin, I could seriously paint everything...maybe I'll start that mural I've been thinking of? Or perhaps a new collection of giant masterpieces? Or maybe I'll add crackle to everything! Okay, deep breath...I'll start with a big THANK YOU, CHROMA PAINT!!! It's a painter's dream come true...
I plan to paint several paintings on different surfaces (canvas, wood and stone) to really put the paints to the test. Plus, I'm excited to try out some colors I haven't painted with before, bringing a new palette to my collection. See you next Friday to see what I create here in the studio...
I wish you all the best on your creative journey!
