Studio Scenes: Rock Dove

In the studio this week, Rock Dove aka Pigeon, acrylic paint, gesso,  and crackle paint on 5 1/2 x 6 inch wood.

I started with black gessoed wood...

then painted the picture using acrylic paint.

When completely dry, I added the crackle medium.  I am learning how to use this stuff, and have found there is a definite technique to getting your cracks right.

Jo Sonja's Crackle Medium is my new favorite creative tool...I am loving the aged effect and the texture it gives to plain paintings.
